Abu Dhabi, 2012: After a lovely Thanksgiving celebration on Friday, it felt most appropriate to get ready for the new week by passing by the Armenian Christmas Bazaar, held at the Abu Dhabi Beach Rotana. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Armenian Women’s Association, the venue was next to the beach and the lovely open Christmassy feel was already in the air.
Cute handcrafts from Armenia. We had to take a picture!
Pots and pans, that are actually a part of a wall hanging. Another Armenian craft
This talented wire and polymer clay artist Emmanuela was really pleasant to passersby. She is wearing one of her exquisite pieces
One of our favourite mixed media artists, Helen Antoniades (catch her hiding behind her lovely work)
Carrie Wareham, artist and owner of Black Sheet Studio. We bought a ‘luxury fund’ piggy bank, as we do want to travel far and wide!
Melanie Gissing, owner of Maddy & Eva girls clothes, as well as Melanie Gissing Designs. She is wearing one of her lovely silk tops
Love the ‘cheese’ stick ons- by the Rustic Bead. We were tempted to buy them for our European friends
Teri and her stunning gold effect artwork. Our friends bought a couple of special greeting cards from her. Happy to bring business to our belowed artisan friends 🙂
Sahar’s cute Swarovski handmade trees.
Bea lives in Abu Dhabi. She is the first qualified stained glass artist that we have met.
Dead Diva and her pal Dead Elvis – By Nicky Roberts. His work has a pop art theme. Visit his stall next time if you need a tickle in your funny bone (no pun intended).
Charles Gibson and his greeting card collection with photos of camels taken by him. He is also a writer for the CLUB Abu Dhabi member’s magazine
Colin Roberts, Owner of 2RGalleries and the handcrafter behind these skull wooden corks. You’ve already met his son, Nick Robert’s Dead Diva and Pal work above.
Fahima Fattah’s beautiful acrylic paintings reminiscent of dreamy Arabian life. We bought her porcelain dishes, we just fell in love with them.
