Dubai, 2012: Tucked away on Al Wasl road is O’de Rose. When you enter the gallery the whiff of lovely fresh roses is the first thing that caresses the senses.
I got to meet the owner for one brief moment. In fact My Dubai My City have done a very interesting video to give you a glimpse O’ de Rose has to offer.
There was a small craft exhibtion going on showcasing work by UAE based French artisans, so I thought it would be worth it to check out both the gallery as well as the artwork on show. I bumped into quite a few of my artisan colleagues. Carinne Abou-Huguet, Owner of novel Keen bags was present with her fashionable handcrafted bags.
As someone who loves crochet work, I was attracted to the crochet lamp. Still trying to figure out how they got the lamp and glass fitted into the crochet ‘sleeves.’
Skulls are now in fashion, as you can see from the T shirt photo below as well as work by a French artisan (her name escapes me!)
Of course what is an art and fashion gallery without bold, daring necklaces and clutches as shown below?
