LUMAS officially opened doors in Dubai on the 15th of September, the same day as the opening of Faig Ahmed’s Fluid Forms next door at Cuadro Art Gallery. The reason I wanted to attend this was because I was fascinated by some of the works of their artists and photographers, when I got lost in DIFC before the summer (and of course blissfully found myself in the DIFC Art precinct as I would love to call it – a blog story to follow on this – Lost and Found story).
The concept that LUMAS presents is very enticing to new collectors and people fascinated about art and photography, in that the limited editions are anywhere between 75-150 limited editions and are cost at very reasonable prices, making a bigger pool of art and photo lovers to be able to afford it.
Here are some of the pieces of work that attracted me to them.
Most of the work I saw was clamped beneath acrylic glass, giving a smooth finish and also perhaps acting as protection from the harsh weather climes.
Browse through LUMAS’ website to check out the vast number of artists and photographers internationally. I am hoping to visit LUMAS in Dusseldorf when I am next there.
Good work Jan. Very interesting coverage in this gallery. I might pop in to see the works soon based on your article and photographs.
