It’s been seven years since I last visited Hong Kong, yet, the street markets remain the same. The hustle and bustle. The smell of sesame oil cooking various meats and foods on the roadside. The familiar tourist pell-mell. The calling out of vendors to buy their wares. The street nights and busy life. Love it.

This time, though, I ensured that I took photos of some of the stalls in their vibrantly coloured stall attire. I even caught sight of Jimmy Choo handbags (not!).

Now, I’m not sure why the Mong Kok Ladies’ Market at Tung Choi Street is named so. As you can see from the photos, there are a lot of ready made goods just for men, from tees to caps, from wallets to belts.

How to get to Hong Kong Ladies’ Market at Tung Choi Street.

Hong Kong is really accessible, thanks to the well planned MTR (metros) and bus routes. Even though I was staying in the Shau Kei Wan area, I found it easy to get onto the MTR.

So even if you are staying at hotels around Causeway Bay area, this is how to get to Tung Choi Street.

– Take the MTR to Mong Kok station (this station is not Mong Kok East).

– Take the E2 exit at MRT station

– Walk along Nathan Road

– You will see signs to the Ladies’ Market

More information is available online.

It was early evening that I set to see the markets, for old time's sake.
