Dubai 2012: After my excitement at seeing high end jewelry houses handcrafting one off pieces and showcasing them at Art Dubai (yes, I am referring to last year’s spectacular Van Cleef & Arpels collection), I was back at Art Dubai this year to view Cartier’s Naturellement Collection.  When you enter the Cartier garden, you are greeted by a white wild animal, sparkling with cobalt blue coloured and white crystals and diamonds.

Landscape artist Christophe Ponceau conceptualised the whole garden that only photos are worthwhile to help you grasp what you may have missed. I have not been able to find out, through my web research, any more information about this talented landscape artist. What a privilege it would be to interview him on the whole process of handcrafting the landscape, whilst the Cartier artisans handcrafted the Naturellement collection. (Updated note: I am very humbled that Christophe Ponceau left a comment to this blog post and I now have his website to share with you. Love the way he has designed the gardens, right from the conceptualising design.  While the website is in French, thankfully I can read French to some degree.)

In the photo above, you can see a rectangular ‘hole’ in the white wall. That was actually a video demonstrating how Cartier artisans creating various pieces of the work. Again, I’ve been unable to track this video on YouTube, to share it with you.

On my way out, the hostess handed me the Cartier Art Magazine, which makes an interesting read. It is available for subscription.

And here questions of type such if honestly strike me not much as I wrote everything higher. It is visible you simply you don’t want to read all this. As my parrot does.
