Dubai, 2012: Adip Dutta’s sculpture at Art Dubai 2012 stole the limelight. On one hand the gigantic sculpture “In Pain I redeem Love” looked like a dinosaur sized hair scrunchie. And on the other hand, it looked like part of the rib cage of, well, a dinosaur.

The website of the Experimenter Gallery, Kolkata, India is not working and as a result I cannot find out more information on Adip Dutta’s work showcased by this gallery. Thankfully, upon my research, I found a well written blog post on Adip Dutta’s work at Art Dubai.

Written by Kuwaiti based blogger Al Mahha, the article echoes all the sentiments that have been running through my system when I stumbled upon the sculpture. Somehow, I missed the other pieces of work by Adip Dutta which involves feelings of torture and more pain; perhaps I was blinded by the big sculpture which stood for monumental pain of giant stature.

Art in the City also shares interesting insights of the sculpture.
